Subject: Payroll Processing sometimes raises an error when a new pay is submitted to "Verify"
Summary:    

Menu: "Pay Processing"

Scenario: 

  1. When a user creates a new pay, the system creates the pay entry in the background. This process takes a few minutes
  2. During 1 above, if the user submits the pay for "Verification" (while the pay is generating), there is an error generated.
  3. Error Message is: "Log Message: Cannot generate pay for Payrun [ID: 1447] Employee [550008]. Reason: Status is "Waiting to verify"

PART A - Development work for this case has been completed.

1. The change will be available in version: 15.40 and Patch 15.30.240514

2. The following changes were made (Include Database object names, Program classes, and any other relevant information):

  1. When the pay is "Waiting to create", we do not allow any commands.
  2. WE log a message if the user attempts to process a command mentoring and training purposes

3. Affected Areas:

  1. Pay Processing

4. The issue was caused by:

  1. Prior to this change, we allowed users to submit a "pay" even if it was not completely generated.
