Subject: Add "Engine" details to the Product Master
Summary:    

Atin from Express auto parts has asked for the ability o easily identify item compatibility with engines, for example, a product such as "Oil Filter", we need some way to identify what engines (Make, model, etc) will this filter be compatible with.

Scenario

  1. Auto Parts company sells products specific to engines, for example, various engine oils.
  2. There is a product as "Engine Oil -  UNIVERSAL 20W-50" which can be used for gasoline and diesel engines types. 
  3. If a customer comes in asks what engines can we use the above oil for?, users should be able to view the engine types from the product master and advise. This is common if the customer runs a  spare parts shop

Propose the following design:

  1. Use the item description to add additional product detail
  2. Add full-text search which includes the product notes. This search will work both on the Product Master as well as in POS

Example:

Product Code:  OIL20W-50
Description:Engine Oil -  UNIVERSAL 20W-50

Product Description:

Engine Types: Diesel
Compatible with: Light vehicles under 3MT
Additional Information: Replace oil every 12 months or 10,000 KM
Model Compatibility: MT2066, MT34434, UR44242

Test Case: In the above example, the user can search for "OIL AND MT34434" and product "OIL20W-50" will be displayed as the full-text search will go through all items using a google-like search.
