Subject: Submitting a days TNA Record Times Out
Summary:    

During UAT in V13 (13.40.0404.GAand encountered an issue where they submitted a day’s time and faced a time-out error.

They requested assistance to resolve this.

Further to our team viewer meeting, we verified that a timeout issue has been faced when trying to submit a day’s time for all the employees from the TNA Timesheet menu – a time-out error was received. We verified the server specs and it seems fine. Refer to figure 1.

We collected the database and restored it in our test environment.


Environment details:

  1. Server Name: LINKQA8
  2. Linksoft Version: V13.40.0404.GA
  3. LinkSoft URL: http://10.0.0.18/LinkWEB-XXX
  4. LinkSoft Login: Username: admin, Password: XXX

 

Steps to Replicate:

  1. Login as Admin
  2. Menu: Time Management à TNA Timesheet
  3. Selection:
    1. Employee: All
    2. Date From: 10/06/2022
    3. Date To: 10/06/2022
  4. Filter by “Valid” Status
  5. Records will be displayed – Refer to figure 2
  6. Select all
  7. Click “Submit”
  8. After loading for a while, a Time Out error will come

PART A - Development work for this case has been completed.

1. The change will be available in versions: 14.00 and 13.40.0621 Patch

2. The following changes were made(Include Database object names, Program classes, and any other relevant information):

  1. Moved "Timesheet Base Entries Create" to "Timesheet Import Process" as this was causing delays in submitting timesheets when there are a large number of entries

3. Affected Areas:

  1. Timesheet Import and Timesheet Submission

4. The issue was caused by:

  1. Calling Base Procedure once per time entry instead of Once per Process.
