Bula Team,

We did a Team Viewer meeting and worked on the case. The following was done;
  1. Navigate to Product Master and searched for A047477
  2. Edited records and changed Product Code to DT01062071
This gives a message as; Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.



We will get our technical team to diagnose the issue and advise.

Bula Team,

We had requested a copy of the LinkSOFT Database to diagnose the issue internally. The following has been tested;
  1. Setup an Environment internally with the Tappoo Chemist Database
  2. Installed LinkSOFT Application version 12.30.0224.GA (same as onsite)
  3. Perform Product Code Change
    • Navigate to Product Master
    • Search for Item A047477
    • Edited record and changed Product Code to DT01062071
    • Save record
    • This gives a message as; Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
  4. Uninstalled LinkSOFT Application version 12.30.0224.GA
  5. Reinstalled LinkSOFT Application version 12.40.0429.GA
  6. Upgraded the Database
  7. Perform Product Code Change
    • Navigate to Product Master
    • Search for Item A047477
    • Edited record and changed Product Code to DT01062071
    • Save record
    • This gives a message as; Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
After the above tests, the issue remains. We will get our development team to diagnose the issue and advise.

PART A - Development work for this case has been completed.

1. The change will be available in version:12.41.0405

2. The following changes were made(Include Database object names, Program classes, and any other relevant information):

  1. Refactored renaming source primary key in "Notes & Attachments" framework by filtering part of the key.  
  2. We need to filter the records by source primary key. Since the full key is not known, we can filter part of the key using a like operator. This will limit the number of records to rename.

3. Affected Areas:

  1. Inventory -> Product Master -> Change Part Number.

4. The issue was caused by:

  1. Renaming the source primary key in all the notes and attachments framework was taking a long time to complete.
