Summary:    

Express Auto Parts has requested for the below feature:

AutoMatic Product Code based on "Category" and "SubCategory". Product "X" has the following Details.
  1. Category 
    1. Code = ACC 
    2. Description = Accessories
  2. Subcategory
    1. Code = LL
    2. Description = Led Lights
  3. When product "X" is saved, the system should auto generate the code as ACCLL0000001.

Development work for this case has been completed.

The change will be available in version: 11.0.0813

1. The following changes were made(Include Database object names, Program classes and any other relevant information):|

  1. Added a configuration for "Automatic Product Code Method (M=Next Number Mask, C=Category, CS=Category + Sub Category. First 3 Characters of C or CS + 3 digit next number)"

2. The issue was caused by:

4. Notes: 

When checking for the next number in the "C" and "CS" method, the system checks for product codes "beginning with" the category or subcategory being used.

For example:

  1. Automatic Product code method = C, Category code = TY, an existing product exists with code "TYX001". 
    the next number that will be picked is "TYX002"
    If the product code "TYX001" did not exist. The next number that will be picked is "TY001", followed by "TY002", etc.
