Hi Vineshwar, the cause is that we must round Deductions and Payments to 2DP, which causes a few cents off during rounding.

In this example, Employee E003 has a Pay Rate = 16.9475, Pay Frequency = 26, Hours per pay = 80. The Annual Salar is calculated at 35250.80 which was rounded to 0 DP giving 35251.00

I have changed the "Salary Display" in the Pay Slip to round to 2DP in the report giving 35250.80.

Here is the Salary Design:

  1. We start with the Salary from the "Pay Rate" screen at the time the Pay is being processed
  2. The system then calculates the "Hourly Rate" based on "Hours Per Day" and "Pay Frequency"
  3. The "Hourly Rate" is then used to process the pay. Keep in mind here that we must round all amounts to "2 Decimal Place" to make deductions and payments. For example, if a deduction or Banking is calculated at $100.1255, we can only use $100.13. Therefore, the Salary for the employee for a particular pay will not be exactly what is in the "Pay Rate", there will be a slight difference (usually a few cents)
  4. We can show the Salary without taking into account the rounding for Deductions and Payments; however this would be misleading as it will not match the actual amounts Deducted or Paid.

The changes have been applied to the Demo Environments. Please verify and get back with feedback. Thanks.

Hi guys,

Since we cannot get this case tested and passed by the initiator, we have reversed the change and will consider this in a future release.

Teams discussion with Vineshwar and Sanjay

Discussion notes:

  1. Refer to comment 4
  2. Agreed that 4DP is required to display on the LinkSOFT Forms, and to allow users to manually calculate the rate for Allowances/Deductions/Banking amounts
  3. If we increase this to 6DP, we can only show the first 4DP on the screens, resulting in confusion on how the amounts have been rounded
  4. We agreed that calculating the Rate to 4DP was acceptable
  5. The salary in the payslip, is calculated using the 4DP rate calculated during pay processing,. This is rounded to 0DP as we expect annual salaries to be in whole dollars, example: 50,123  instead of 50,123.25
  6. Similar design comcept aplied to Hourly Rates which can be rounded to the nearest cent. Example, an hourly rate of 25.29 is acceptable, while an hourly rate of 15.2912 will cause slight rounding differences

Agreed to close the case as further inestigation is no longer required.
