User Login
Users need a personal "User Login" to access LinkPOS.
The ability to make changes to data is set by an operator's "User Login". For example, only a user with administrator access can create a new user.
Steps to Create User Login

Description |
User ID |
This is the user ID or username to sign into LinkPOS. |
Name | This is the name of the user. |
Change Password |
If "Change Password" is set to "Yes", the system forces the users to change their password at the first login. |
Role |
Role defines the role of the user. User access is dependent on the role setup.Role Codes are maintained under Role Maintenance . |
Location |
Location is where the user is physically based. Locations are maintained under Inventory Location . |
Discount Allowed | Tick the checkbox to allow the user to process discounts. Untick to disable the user from processing discounts. |
Discount is Percent | Tick the checkbox if the user to process discounts as percentages. Enter the percentage of discount allowed in the "Discount amount" field. |
Discount Amount |
Discount Amount is the "Value" of discount a user can process. |
Status |
Status field shows if a user is "logged On" or "Logged Off" from POS.
If a user tries to log on, the system gives the following
message: ‘The user is already logged in’, another user with administrator rights can log in and set this field to "Logged Off" for the use to log on. |
Security ID |
Security ID is an
encrypted field used to login into POS. The user can automatically login
using this Security ID. This ID is usually used for swipe cards and
barcode logins. Use a blank username to login with a security ID. Generate the UserLoginBarcode report for print outputs. Users can generate the barcode by a username or security code. |
Tax File Number |
This is the Tax Identification Number of the user. |
