Delivery Management

Overview

Point of Sale (POS) Delivery Management is a dedicated module designed to efficiently handle sales items requiring delivery to customers. It provides a streamlined process for managing delivery operations, from sales initiation to final delivery, empowering businesses to run effective delivery services and manage their delivery drivers with ease.

  1. Purpose and Scope: The module's primary function is to enable businesses to run an efficient delivery operation by systematically managing all sale items that need to be delivered to customers. It also supports the effective management of delivery drivers.
  2. Sales Integration: Deliveries are initiated directly from the Point of Sale system. Before a sale is completed, selecting the "Delivery Option" ensures that the sale automatically flows into the Delivery Management module for subsequent processing.
  3. Access and Navigation: Users can access the Delivery Management functionalities through the menu options: "Point of Sale -> Delivery Management -> Process Deliveries" or "Link WEB -> Point of Sale -> Delivery Management". This module's availability in the LinkWeb environment centralises and enhances management capabilities.
  4. Batch Processing and Organisation: The system allows users to load the Delivery Management screen to select and group multiple sales orders into single delivery batches. It provides tools such as filters, drag-and-drop column functionality, and sorting options to efficiently organise and manage delivery items.
  5. Detailed Information Management: Users can modify crucial delivery details directly within the module, including the Delivery Date, Name of the recipient, Contact person, and specific "This Delivery" amounts. Furthermore, by interacting with the "Receipt Number" field, users can edit address information, contact numbers, and phone details associated with the delivery.
  6. Driver Assignment and Instructions: When a delivery batch is saved, the system provides options to select a Driver Name and input specific Driver Instructions. This feature facilitates clear communication and ensures that delivery personnel have all necessary information for efficient task execution.
  7. Reporting and Documentation: The module is equipped to generate essential reports and documents, such as Delivery Reports and Delivery Dockets, directly from its reporting menu. An enhancement allows for reprinting sales delivery dockets from the Web interface, with provisions to produce multiple copies if required, such as for external partners.
  8. Status and Completion: Upon physical completion of a delivery, its status can be updated within the system. Users can mark a delivery as "Complete" via the Utilities -> Complete Batch option, which accurately records the fulfilment of the order.
  9. Data Control and Issue Resolution: The module addresses operational issues, such as resolving duplicate entries that might appear in the "Search Delivery" function. It also includes configurable controls, like the ability to hide the "Available Balance" on sales delivery dockets for specific customer types, ensuring data presentation aligns with business requirements.
